Limited Lifetime Warranty
We design our bottles to make hydration easy, fun, and ready for life’s chaos — and we stand behind that promise. Every Owala® bottle, mug, and tumbler is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Accessories and soft goods are covered under a One-Year Limited Warranty. Please refer to the individual product page to confirm which warranty applies to your item.
If something’s off, we’ll make it right.
▾ What is covered?
Material or Workmanship Defects:
If your Owala product arrives with a manufacturing flaw or defect in materials or craftsmanship, we’ll replace the defective part (or the entire product, if needed) free of charge.
Use as Intended
Our warranty applies to products that are used and cared for according to their intended purpose and care instructions. It does not cover standard wear and tear, accidental damage, or damage resulting from improper use.
Authorized Purchases Only
Our warranty only applies to Owala products purchased directly from owalalife.com, an official Owala retailer, or an authorized seller.
▾ What isn't covered?
Like all good things, our warranty has limits. It does not cover:
Normal wear and tear (scratches, dents, chips, or faded paint).
Accidental damage (drops, impacts, misuse, or neglect).
Cosmetic damage that doesn’t affect performance.
Improper care, cleaning, or storage — including stubborn odors, mold, or rust. (Our bottles are rust-resistant, but rust from trapped moisture isn’t typically covered. Not sure if yours qualifies? Our Customer Service team can help). See our Cleaning Guide for care tips to prevent and address odor, mold, or rust.
Lost or stolen products.
Third-party modifications, engravings, or accessories.
Products purchased from unauthorized resellers or secondhand marketplaces.
▾ How long are products covered?
The term lifetime refers to the functional lifetime of the product — not your lifetime (we plan on you outlasting us). If your item qualifies under warranty, we’ll make it right with a fair resolution based on product availability. In most cases, that means issuing a warranty voucher so you can choose a comparable lid or bottle as a replacement.
▾ Are customized products covered under warranty?
The bottle portion of customized Owala® products is covered under our Lifetime Warranty — just like standard bottles. If a covered defect affects the bottle itself, we’ll offer a fair resolution to replace the affected part or product at no cost to you.
Artwork and engraving are handled a little differently. Please see the Customization Terms & Conditions for more details.
▾ Are special edition or Color Drop bottles covered under warranty?
Yes! Every Owala® product — including special-edition collections and Color Drops — is covered by our standard Limited Lifetime Warranty for material or workmanship defects.
If a special edition or Color Drop bottle qualifies for replacement under warranty and the same color or style is still available, we’ll replace it with that exact version.
If the original design is out of stock or discontinued, we’ll offer a comparable product of equal value. While we can’t recreate past colorways or re-release retired designs, your replacement will perform just as perfectly as the original.
Please note that any damage due to normal wear, misuse, or modifications is not covered.
▾ How to submit a warranty claim
1. Gather your info: Have your proof of purchase ready — a receipt or order confirmation from an authorized retailer.
2. Show us the issue: We may ask for a photo or short video to confirm the defect.
3. File your claim: Fill out our warranty claim form with your details. Our team will contact you with next steps.
4. Please hold onto your product. Our team may ask for additional information before proceeding with your claim.
5. Send us your product (if needed): In some cases, we’ll ask you to ship it to us for review. Don’t worry, if we request the return, we’ll cover the cost of shipping. We’re always looking to make our products better, and like everyone, we learn the most from our mistakes.
Once your claim is approved, we’ll offer a fair resolution to replace the affected part or product at no cost to you.
▾ Warranty Limitations
Warranty Coverage
Owala® makes no other warranties, express or implied, concerning the product or the merchantability or fitness thereof for any purpose. The term “lifetime” refers to the lifetime of the product. This Warranty is void if the product is repaired or modified in any way by someone other than our Company. We reserve the right to request photographic proof of product defect and request that the defective product in question be shipped to us to verify the defect or to aid in quality control efforts. We do not offer monetary reimbursement nor is the Warranty transferable. The total liability for any loss or damage, whether based on contract, warranty, negligence or otherwise, shall not exceed the purchase price of the Owala product. In no event shall we be liable for consequential, incidental or special damages of any kind.
Warranty Procedures
We reserve the right to require warranty claims to be submitted using specific forms, online portals, or other reasonable submission methods as we may deem appropriate and to request photographic proof of product defect and/or request that the defective product in question be shipped to us to verify the defect or to aid in quality control efforts.
Warranty Redemption
Warranty credits are issued solely as an administrative mechanism to facilitate the issuance of a replacement part quickly and efficiently. Warranty credits are not sold or issued in exchange for consideration and may not be redeemed for cash. Warranty credits do not create any independent right to stored value, cash redemption, or general purchasing power beyond what is necessary to obtain a warranty replacement. Warranty credits must be redeemed within twelve (12) months after issuance to complete the applicable warranty replacement and may be subject to reasonable redemption conditions established by Owala® to administer warranty claims and prevent misuse. Warranty credits are not gift certificates, gift cards, or stored value products under applicable law, including California Civil Code section 1749.5. Warranty credits may not be redeemed during any temporary blackout periods established by Owala® for operational or promotional reasons. Warranty credits may not be applied toward products offered at a sale price or discount. Warranty credits may not be combined with any other coupons, promo codes, or discount offers.
To the extent required by applicable law, all provisions of this Warranty Limitations section shall be modified and applied in a manner consistent with such requirements.
